El-Gilani Methodology: Abdul-Aziz Case
The medical profession was completely baffled when His Eminence Sultan Mohyuddin Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani invented a methodology that scientifically proved the healing power of Divine Words in the Holy Qur’an and prayers of the earlier messengers. For more than 30 years thousands have benefited physically, spiritually, and mentally from the El-Gilani Methodology (EGM) of Qur’anic Therapy.
By the permission of the Almighty Creator, Dr. Gilani and his dedicated staff of Qur’anic therapists have successfully treated patients with cancer, AIDS, paranoid delusions, infertility, and a wide range of other ailments. In fact, for the first time in medical history a brain-dead patient was revived using Qur’anic therapy in a Germantown, PA hospital.
The latest breakthrough occurred with the cure of Ismail Abdul Aziz who had been exhibiting psychotic and destructive anti-social behavior for many years. Under the direct supervision of His Eminence Sultan Mohyuddin Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani, Dr. Khalifa Hussain Abu Bakr had been treating the patient. During an interview Dr. Hussain provided the following case notes.
“History of mental patient: Ismail Abdul Aziz was diagnosed with a physiological mental disorder, where doctors wanted to drug him and give him electric shock therapy. He was in this condition for over 10 years due to breaches of sharia (law of Allah), whereupon he listened to shaitanic western music. The music of Michael Jackson causes people to go crazy because the devil actually comes wherever the music is played or listened to. Because Ismail had been listening to this type of music for many years this breach in sharia caused him to lose his grip on reality and he went insane. An entity took over his body and consumed him for over 10 years. Unlike normal human beings who live with families, eat, work, play and sleep, these entities only have one purpose and that is to seek and destroy. This entity accomplished its goal within Ismail.”
“While in my home thinking he (Ismail) was in his own quarters, I saw clearly him approaching a young lady of the community. I recognized his approach was not good and I began to speak in his direction saying, ‘Don’t go a step further!’ He yelled out, ‘You come any closer and the situation will get ugly…’ but before he could finish his sentence I found my hands around his throat and I sat him in a chair and said; ‘KUN BE ITHNILLAH (with the permission of Allah you will be healed).’ I continued with recitation of Holy Qur’an and Hissar along with completion of Surah al-Baqarah, which the patient sat and listened. The evil entity within him became disturbed and angry from the Holy Qur’an and the healing effect of Holy Qur’an (had on Ismail).”
“Soon afterwards the mental patient’s body began to shake and shift around. This entity came out atop his (Ismail’s) physical body and confronted me face to face with its red eyes and smoky figure. I heard him say ‘I will destroy you, I will kill you!’ My response was, ‘Not before I destroy you.’ I then intensified in recitation of Holy Qur’an and the treatment I had been giving the patient I now directed toward the entity. It became very, very angry by what was hitting him. He then tried to attack me and he did. I felt my physical body began to burn from the evil presence. I intensified (my efforts), began thikr and called upon my beloved Murshid (El-Sheikh Gilani) to come and assist me. In the next moment His Eminence Sultan Mohyuddin Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani came to my aid. He (my Murshid) came in full form and in full garments. He stood between me and the entity, facing me. He was telling me to follow him in doing intense thikr and tassawar reciting ‘Laillah-ha-illAllah.’ He (my Murshid) projected Ism Allah on the entity whereupon the entity became weaker and weaker until it was destroyed. For the entire duration the patient sat and witnessed everything that took place.”
“These types of evil entities are very dangerous and will make individuals do things against their own will. The victim will have no control and no knowledge of what is happening. All of their anti-social activities result in criminally destructive behavior.”
Dr. Hussain continues his account; “After the incident my Murshid was contacted. He informed me of what took place and also confirmed and acknowledged the encounter. His Eminence Sultan Mohyuddin Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani instructed me to continue treatment on the mental patient and keep him in custody. Through the permission of Allah the entity has left the patient’s body. We have noticed dramatic changes in the individual who now practices his deen, makes wudhu and establishes the five daily prayers. He is also intelligently responding to questions he is asked. For the first time in over 10 years he is having a full night’s sleep. His eye color has changed, and his face has changed. But we will complete treatment for the next forty days. This is a practical demonstration of the powers and healings of the Holy Qur’an in which the Almighty Himself has declared, ‘(in the Holy Qur’an) there is healing for those who believe and reflect.’”
“I will conclude by stating that anyone whom accepts the One Almighty Creator, and repents sincerely for his wrongdoings Allah will forgive them… Ameen.”

After the successful demonstrations of EGM in Saudi Arabia, El-Sheikh Gilani got in touch with Dr. Dennis Leigh at Maudsley Hospital in London. Dr. Leigh remarked that he did not want to believe in religion. El-Sheikh Gilani responded that he did not teach religion and proposed his willingness to treat children who didn’t believe in religion. Further El-Sheikh Gilani said that he thought that Dr. Leigh was a scientist looking for scientific truth–Dr. Leigh slammed down the phone. With that Dr. Leigh and so many others like him have shut the door of impartiality for the poor patients who are suffering from mental illness with no cure within modern psychiatry in sight.
The most devastating aspect of our efforts is that the psychiatric profession does not allow any other methodology to reach mankind other that what they themselves can comprehend. Our problem is not our ability to heal patients through application of Divine words and prayers, but our inability to get to those patients in need.
The Sufia have been successfully treating people for more than four centuries because Sufi sciences have been known to be effective treatment. Its true reality is only recently being "proven" by modern medical science.
It is important to note that we are not preachers, nor is EGM a method for spreading religion. What knowledge we use is the common heritage of all. EGM is derived from experiences and prayers of earlier messengers such as Abraham, Jacob, David, Moses, Jesus son of Mary and Muhammad, the last (peace be upon them all), and from Psalms, Torah and Gospels that contain the secret prayers of the Sufis and their methodologies.
We have helped many Muslims suffering from various types of mental and physical diseases. Nonetheless we are humanitarians and are very much concerned for the well being of others who are needlessly suffering from ineffective psychiatric and medical practices.
