The Curse of Harry Potter
| The phenomenal popularity of the Harry Potter series delves menacingly beyond financial and literary arenas, and dangerously into the minds and spirits of unsuspecting readers. With more than 17 million web sites, and fans in over 200 countries world-wide, in 40 different languages, Harry Potter books, videos and games, glorify witchcraft, magic, and sorcery. As a result, children and adults alike have been stricken with mysterious illnesses which stem from reading Harry Potter books. Readers have experienced horrific spiritual and physical consequences from being exposed to the evil energy associated with these books. The books employ the help of entities known as jinn beings to spread the practice of evil. |
(GHAZAALAH MAGAZINE) Corporate giants such as Coca Cola, Mattel and Warner Bros. financially sponsor the Harry Potter brand making it available to both young and old alike. It is clear, however, that their target audience is children. A U.S. consumer research survey reports “over half of all children between the ages of 6 and 17 have read at least one Harry Potter book.” This series of books by British author J.K. Rowling focuses on the plights of sad, lonely, and friendless 10-year-old Harry. Readers, especially young people and adults who identify with those emotions, are drawn to the tale of this boy who is selected to attend the 1,000-year-old Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The faculty, who are all accomplished wizards and witches, teaches he and his classmates how to properly use magic tools, spells, and rituals. Many people do indeed relate to Harry Potter because thousands of “letters of application” are sent to the fictitious school daily from children who want to learn how to be witches.
Instead of being concerned, many parents are thrilled that the series has captured their children’s imaginations and seemingly developed in them a love for reading. But what are the children actually being taught and what desire is actually being developed? Nothing good.
Children are fascinated with the kind of power that Harry and others in his world possess. The “white” witchcraft that permeates the series is made to look innocent and yet is very harmful. The series includes descriptions of human sacrifice, Wicca (the religion of witchcraft) communicating with demons and creatures from the satanic world, situational ethics in witchcraft, the lightning bolt as a power symbol, broomsticks and witches’ hats as phallic symbols, dabbling in sorcery, recruitment, and teaching children dark arts all of which are explained in remarkably intriguing detail.
What makes the Harry Potter series so repugnant is that the dangerous, evil forces of witchcraft and sorcery are framed in fantasy language. The supposed children’s literature is crafted as humorous, beautifully written, and extremely provocative reading. Indeed books can open the door to young minds. If you put sorcery into the minds of young susceptible readers, then sorcery is what you can expect to get out of the minds of young susceptible readers. The Harry Potter brand makes children vulnerable to evil influences. The series makes children want to be more like Harry and his friendsto become witches and warlocks. This is what is so harmful. [Eds. Note: In an accompaniment to this article is an interview with 21-year-old “Benta”. She describes how reading the tales and partaking in the Harry Potter practices nearly destroyed her life. By Allah’s mercy with the intensive help of the Sufic Psychiatric Research Institute, she is on her way to recovery.]
Although the Harry Potter series tops the list in popularity, there is a growing surge of youth-oriented TV-shows on witchcraft like “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and “Charmed”. A generation of children are being de-sensitized to the occult, which will have grave and long-term spiritual consequences.
Everyone should keep away from the TV and radio when satanic programs are being broadcast. One recalls the case of Uri Geller, whose influence was seen to pass through this medium and affect those in his TV audience sitting at home. Many TV stations air shows that spread psychic diseasesyet no one seems to realize or care.
In the Harry Potter series, and its associated games, videos, worksheets and activities used in numerous public schools and an increasing number of religious institutions, the names of real devils and demons are given, along with explicit instructions on how to invoke them. These are not characters of fiction, but actual entities that can, and have, cause cases of possession.
In a startling acknowledgment Pastor David Meyer (a confessed former witch) reveals in his article Harry Potter? What does God have to Say? “On July 8 at midnight, bookstores everywhere were stormed by millions of children to obtain the latest and fourth book of the series known as ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.’ These books were taken into homes everywhere with a real evil spirit following each copy to curse those homes.”
For more than 25 years the International Qur’anic Open University (IQOU) with its research affiliate the Sufic Psychiatric Research Institute (SPRI) has provided remedies for serious medical, psychiatric diseases and spiritual possessions. During 1976-77 at the Psychiatric Research Institute in Ta’if, Saudi Arabia, the Vice Chancellor and Patron-in-Chief, His Eminence, El-Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani invented and introduced the El-Gilani Methodology (EGM), a methodology that would help, and in many cases cure, those people suffering from many mental diseases such as coma, epilepsy, psychosis, many physical diseases and dominance by evil entities as well.
Through the Mercy of Almighty Allah, El-Sheikh Gilani has worked tirelessly establishing the organizations that expose the damaging effects of Western ideology that exploits mankind, preach ignorance, and lead people away from Allah and His bounty.

Battling the concentrated onslaught of demonic presence brought about through the Harry Potter series is of great concern to Qur’anic therapists and the Muslim community alike. It is very clearly the Illuminati conspirators guile to bring forth a one-world religion with a cleverly concealed element of occultism interwoven in its teaching. In order to succeed in bringing witchcraft to the world and thus creating complete satanic control, an entire generation would have to be induced and taught to think like witches, talk like witches, dress like witches, and act like witches. This is exactly what is happening through the Harry Potter phenomenon. In the United States there are now thousands of temples where Satan is worshipped. And with a copy of any Harry Potter book, thousands of homes are being attacked by unseen presences whose aim is to wreck havoc, disrupt the family unit and worse. This Satanism has now become the ultimate tool in the hands of Zionists.
Developing and sustaining firm faith in Almighty Allah, and worshiping Him alone offers iron clad protection. El-Sheikh Gilani advises, “Muslims must not become lax in their religious obligations. Also Christians should believe and practice the Ten Commandments and give special attention to the injunction: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord thy God is One.’ They should get rid of that piece of wood (statue representing Jesus son of Mary) and reject the interpolations injected into the belief by Saul (Paul), the Zionist.”
Evil spirits are capable of dangerous things, which many Qur’anic therapists have witnessed. They can interfere with electronic devices, and can carry human beings away in whirlwinds. El Sheikh Gilani explains, “I have even treated people subjected to sexual abuses by them. They can also appear in physical form. If the evil entities possess someone, then that person can eat extraordinarily large amounts of food, such as dozens of eggs, etc. Under the influence of a jinn, a person can sing and dance for hours without tiring, and can demonstrate a great amount of paranormal activities. Evil entities, cause temporary blindness, deafness, and dumbness. Unconsciousness can also be induced by these agencies.”
Non-physical entities can cause miscarriages, impotence, and murders. Sometimes they can make people crazy, suicidal, or cause insomnia and headaches.
The IQOU and SPRI are diligent in their educational efforts to warn mankind of the very real danger of possession by evil entities so that future victims can be saved. In truth, the spiritual detriment that can be caused even by simply handling and reading occult materials may be extremely severe.
Most often when there is a rift in the spiritual fiber of a person these entities take hold. Youngsters, in particular are susceptible because of their desire to fit in, to be popular, or for material gain. However, they need only go to the source, Almighty Allah, to attain the greatest amount of success in this life and the hereafter.
What the Qur’anic therapist does for the patient is put an end to satanic influence by subjecting the patient to Divine influence. He fills the spirit of the patient with Divine Noor whereby the evil entity becomes helpless.
All believing God-fearing people are strongly urged to condemn the Harry Potter materials and keep these books and their teachings out of their homes and away from their families. Everyone should heed the forewarning of opening even a tiny sliver to the occult and provide a safe-haven for themselves and their family found in strict adherence to the Laws of Almighty God Allah.
Interview with a victim |
Twenty-one-year-old Benta and her mother, Umm, shared with Ghazaala Benta’s life changing experiences after coming under the influence of the Harry Potter evil. Before her affliction, Benta was smart, energetic, personable and dutiful in her worship. Once attacked by the entities, Benta became withdrawn, aggressive, nervous, and neglectful of her religious duties. Benta, a patient of the Sufic Psychiatric Research Institute, has been treated successfully but is still under observation following her trying ordeal. |
GM to Umm: How did your daughter first come in contact with the Harry Potter books?
Umm: Knowing that my daughter was an avid reader, her aunt recommended the series on the basis that the books were well written. I warned Benta that they were not appropriate materials for her. Although she said she would leave them alone, she later would not look me in the eye when I asked her about them. Of course, I later found out that she was sneaking and reading the books at every opportunity. In the beginning she was on top of her ibadah (worship). However, she was having a lot of stress in her marriage and home situation.
Benta: My living conditions and marriage were in a very sad state. The way I was dealing with it created a door that left me open to the harmful influences in the Harry Potter books. Reading the books was a distraction to my life. As I was reading, I knew full well that Harry Potter is a witch but I rationalized that he was a gifted boy that overcomes through witchcraft the obstacles and enemies in his life.
GM to Benta: How did the stories affect you?
Benta: It was a combination of things: Harry Potter just seemed to open things up for me. The books are very heavy in witchcraft. They play on the imagination and exploit weaknesses. I became even more frustrated with my life, and read to escape my problems rather than strengthening my relationship with Allah [which is the Only effective cure and resolution for every situation.]
Benta continues: Late afternoon to evening were the worst times of the day for me. I was scared all the time. People’s faces looked disfigured and distorted. I would hear people talking in strange languages. I saw stuff coming out of the TV when certain programs were on, especially Japanese animation and Kung Fu movies. I was completely terrified by thoughts; it was as if I could hear the inner thoughts of people directing evil towards me.
Umm: She began partaking in some of the practices in the books. Her anger and anti-social behavior became increasingly aggressive and violent. Benta had psychotic fits and had to be physically restrained several times for her own safety, as well as for the safety of others. Her actions were directed at her husband who was attempting to look after her at that time. Benta became increasingly incoherent. She couldn’t remember what day or time it was. At times she would even inquire as to the year. She didn’t even know what she was saying.
Benta: My mind was racing in many different directions. I would think the FBI was coming to get us and I suffered with other paranoid delusions. I was anxious and confused about everything. It was really, really horrible.
GM to Benta: Were you aware of reality?
Benta: Not at all. My dreams became very anxious. I couldn’t distinguish what was real and what was not. It was as if I was constantly waking up from a dream, but was unable to determine if the reality was a dream or if the dream was the reality. I would be in completely different dimensions. I didn’t really notice that I was any different. I didn’t have blood-shot red eyes that were bulging out. I mean I didn’t think I was acting “crazy.” But once I started reading the books, I couldn’t stop. They are very tricky. The characters are attractive and I got drawn in. The alluring way that witchcraft is described in the book is subtle, even playful. Though I would try to make salat, I would get so easily distracted I wouldn’t be able to complete a rakah. I mean, I would see a fly on the wall and stare at it for a long time. I’d get confused about what I was doing in Salaat.
GM to Benta: What was the first sign of trouble you noticed?
Benta: You do not really think about it when you’re reading it. You don’t think that it will have an effect on you. I thought everything was fine, and in no way felt anything was amiss. I didn’t realize the pull that the Harry Potter stories had on me. But they drew me away from salat. I would be reading the books and making salat just wouldn’t occur to me. The stories pulled me in such a way, that I know longer wanted to do anything spiritually.
GM to Benta: Would you say that you were in denial about the affects of the series?
Benta: Not really in denial. I didn’t see that anything was wrong. But I thought, just in case there is something going on, I stopped reading the books.
GM to Benta: By this time, how many Harry Potter books had you read?
Umm: She had read two books in their entirety and had started reading the third in the series.
GM to Benta: When the Qur’anic therapists began your treatment with the El-Gilani Methodology, what happened?
Benta: At first, I didn’t see the need for it. On one hand I knew I was being tortured and abused by the impact of the books, but on the other hand it was easier just to let it happen. Eventually I resolved, with the help of Allah Ta’ala, that I would fight it.
GM to Benta: What were some of the elements of your treatment using the El-Gilani Methodology?
Benta: (Describes the treatment under the direct supervision of His Eminence Sultan Mohyuddin Syed Mubarik Ali Gilani). The therapists read special duas [prayers] over me. The treatment contained reaffirmation in the Almighty Power of Allah through the kalimas (affirmation of the Oneness of Allah) and employing the healing ayahs of the Holy Qur’an. These sessions made me stronger.
Umm: At the beginning of the treatment Benta was very confused. After she accepted that she needed the therapy she began to stabilize.
Benta: My situation improved quite dramatically. My concentration improved so I was able to make salat, which helped a great deal. The next portion of the treatment involved intensive dhikr and visualization on the Name of Allah, which greatly improved my condition, and eventually brought me to normality by Allah’s leave.
Umm: Benta is still a bit clingy to me for security. Her episode has left her emotionally spent. But she was determined to beat this thing, and by the Grace of Allah through healing under the El-Gilani methodology, she has.
GM to Benta: What would you like to say to others who are out there reading the Harry Potter books and casting a glance at witchcraft and the occult?
Documentation of the effectiveness and achievements of EGM |
|
Benta: Don’t be naive! Never think that what happened to me can’t happen to you! It was easier to blame everybody else for what was going on in my life. It was easier to blame my husband for my condition. But laying blame didn’t change my state. People should know that their relationship with Allah is all they have. You have to pray to Him all the time. Remember Him. I still feel fragile. Sometimes I just want to sit and cry. Now, I turn to Allah with my worries and concerns.
Benta continues: Maybe some of the things that happen in life are because of Harry Potter, movies, and stuff. Everything has an effect; what you read, listen to, watch, and how you dress leave you vulnerable to unseen influences and entities [good and evil]. You have to strengthen yourself everyday. Read Surah Yaa-Seen everyday. We also have to help each other focus on the purpose of existenceto Worship Allah alone.
The Shayateen are always there to attack the “good” girls. They have little effect on the ones that are already “out there” doing stuff like going to clubs, listening to music, reading Harry Potter books or acting out scenes from movies such as “The Craft.” The shayateen already have those people under their influence so they look for ways to hook others. Stay away from all of those bad things, and put your faith, hope and trust solely in Allah.
