My journey towards Islam began while I was in college. Personal experiences caused me to seek the Creator and a better way of living. Through the Mercy and Compassion of the one Creator Allah I was given Al Islam and introduced to my beloved Murshid (spiritual guide) Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani al Hashimi wal Hussaini.  I married, began my family and moved from the city to the rural countryside to raise my children in an environment that would foster their love for Allah, practice of His Din (way of life) and love for His beloved Nabi Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).  Through the compassion and unconditional love of my Murshid he taught me how to love my children as Nabi Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) loves children and to nurture them to be upright and moral. To show them the right direction with guidance resting on the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah (practices) of the Holy Last Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him and his blessed family), away from crime and drugs, desisting from sinful acts that bring shame to Al Islam, shame to the family and erode the moral fabric of society. The Holy Nabi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says, “Jennah (paradise) lies beneath the feet of mothers.” Only those mothers who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong.

Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani has taught me the importance of upholding and implementing the Ten Commandments given to the blessed Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) in every thing I do, immerse myself in the ways of the Holy Nabi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and make them and the Holy Qur’an my criteria for enjoying what is right and forbidding what is wrong.  All praise is due to the One Creator Allah – my children are adults now and like many of their companions they function in society as responsible citizens while keeping Allah and His blessed Nabi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at the core of their existence, protecting them from the social and economic ills that are devouring their counter parts.

Thank you Allah, all praise is due to Allah for sending us Sheik Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani and allowing us to follow this most noble, rightly guided man. Allah protect him and his family from the evil and mischievous ways of men and jinn.
